Take That, Lexus: Infiniti Going Hybrid with Next-Gen 2012 M
Infiniti revealed a super-powerful hybrid system in its 2009 Geneva-show Essence concept. It is now preparing to put its first hybrid into production in the M sedan as a 2012 model-year car. The new M, which is set to debut in virtual form at this weekend’s Pebble Beach weekend, will be introduced in gasoline versions with a 3.7-liter V-6 and 5.0-liter V-8, and for Europe a clean diesel.

Lincoln MKS
Lincoln hasn’t always kept up with the competition in the luxury sedan segment. As rivals evolved with more avant-garde styling, better handing and the latest technology, Lincoln lagged behind, struggling to break free of its antiquated image. The Lincoln MKS is the brand’s newest attempt to gain back some territory. Roomy and comfortable, the MKS boasts available all-wheel drive and a bevy of standard and optional features.
Mechanically, it’s related to the Ford Taurus, meaning it shares that car’s general underpinnings and powertrain. This relationship, however, limits Lincoln’s aspirations for the MKS. It falls short in many areas, including driving dynamics and interior appointments. Read the rest of this entry »
